Positive: The Cowshed is situated in a great location for getting out and exploring places and the Cowshed has lovely views as far as the eye can see, we found the ambience totally relaxing and it certainly made us feel we were tucked away in beautiful countryside. There is ample outside space to chill which was enclosed and also safe for our dog. The accommodation is spacious and well laid out. It contained everything we needed for our short stay - Thursday to Sunday, the kitchen and bathroom was well equipped and the lighting was great too which I personally think is important. Wifi was excellent so hubby was more than happy as England were playing in a test series so he could keep up to speed with watching the cricket live on his phone. There is a basic sky tv package with apps which we couldn't get to work but following one phone call to Cara the host was sorted out immediately.

Negative: Unfortunately the only downside for us was the bed, it was big enough but very uncomfortable, there was no support which was a total shame as you spend quite a few hours sleeping each night. I could have said something at the time but whether the mattress would get replaced was a 50/50 guess and we were only sleeping there for 3 nights. However, I would certainly have scored everything higher had the bed been comfortable. The last people to stay here did not clean out the barbecue so we had to put foil over the metal grill which obviously took us a lot longer to cook our food. Somebody must have noticed this as under the barbecue lid was a pack of new coals to use.
