The landscape, famously the setting for Derek Jarman’s lovely garden and the wartime ‘listening ears’, is punctuated with wooden houses, iconic lighthouses, power stations and gravel pits, and crossed by steam trains of a miniature railway. The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway terminates about 100 yards from the cottage. Fishing locally. Shop 1 mile, tea rooms and pub ¼ mile.
