Grade 2 Listed Stone Cottage, situated in the heart of the historic village of Alton in the Staffordshire Moorlands, close to Dimmingsdale and ideal for those wishing to explore the Churnet Valley and the Staffordshire Way, which routes through the village. Close proximity to the Peak District National Park which offers breath-taking views and fantastic opportunities for pastimes such as cycling, walking and visiting the picturesque market towns of Ashbourne and Leek, making this an ideal base. The property is also enhanced with 'super fast' free wifi for the convenience of our guests.
This delightful cosy, two bedroomed cottage, which sleeps a maximum of 3, is situated in the heart of this beautiful village and within an easy walk to all amenities, including its many pubs, restaurants, tearoom and shops. This beautiful cottage is well-appointed throughout and has a fitted kitchen, with ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and all utensils with an external door leading to an enclosed patio, with table and chairs. The patio occupies a sunny position with lovely countryside views. Beyond is a pretty terraced cottage garden with off road parking for one vehicle . The cosy sitting room has a wood burning stove (for use during winter months only), TV and DVD Player as well as a selection of books and maps to help you make the most of your stay.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms (one double and one single) both sympathetically and tastefully furnished. The double has delightful countryside views from the rear window and both bedrooms have windows to the front with views of the lane leading to the centre of the village and the Round House lock-up, built in 1830. The bathroom is fitted with a free standing walk-in shower.
This is a strictly non-smoking property. Subject to prior agreement with the owners, small well behaved dogs are welcome.

Unreserved parking is available on the lane at the front of the cottage and a designated single parking space is available at the rear of the cottage at the bottom of the terraced garden. This is accessible off a private road behind the cottage (accessible from Knight Lane). Please note that unfortunately BBQs are not permitted.
