It dates back to 1897 when it was built alongside another to accommodate Longhoughton Station railway staff. More information Now, after an extensive renovation it proudly serves as a relaxing retreat in one the most outstanding locations in the UK and an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The space Longhoughton is a small rural village and lies near the coast. Sugar Sands Beach (one of the best according to The Telegraph 2018) is an enjoyable walk away (1.5miles). The pretty towns and villages of Alnwick (Alnwick Castle and Gardens are a must see!), Alnmouth, Seahouses, Bamburgh, Warkworth are only several miles away. There is also a bus stop practically on the doorstep offering a regular bus service to most of these towns and a train station at Alnmouth providing a national service. Wayside Cottage is ideal for a completely relaxing holiday for anyone who enjoys walking, fishing and cycling. Upon entering the retreat, you will feel right at home with pleasant surroundings, a spacious kitchen/diner with bi-folding doors so you can welcome the outdoors inside and to enjoy alfresco dining in the garden in the warmer months.
