Trelonie is a traditional fisherman's cottage set in the heart of St Ives. It is well-equipped and comfortable, with the added bonus of a sunny courtyard garden. We have granite walls, flagstone floors, local artwork, and a stable door to thecourtyard - all the prerequisites for the quintessential Cornish cottage! Woofing guests are also welcome as long as they obey the house! We also have wireless broadband available for those of you who simply cannot sever the ties with the real world.
If you are looking for a glossy, high-end 'boutique' accommodation, perhaps we are not for you. However, if you are looking for a traditional, sympathetically renovated, and comfortable cottage in the heart of St Ives, then we look forward to welcoming you. Our fisherman's cottage was built in the mid-1800s, and we try and make it feel like a home from home, a place you can relax after a day at the beach or pottering around the cobbled streets of our pretty seaside town. The ground floor of the cottage has a sitting room, kitchen, and bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Just off the kitchen is shared access with the cottage next door to our private courtyard. This is an old-character cottage so the steps to the upstairs bedrooms may be a bit steep for those with mobility concerns. The first floor is where both bedrooms are. The first bedroom has a double bed, and the second bedroom has a triple sleeper bunk bed, a double on the bottom, and a single bed on top. We accept pets for an additional fee; we ask that they are not let up on the furniture or beds and that the towels provided are not used for pets. Also, we ask the pets are not left unattended in the property or in the courtyard.
Let's talk about parking. We do not have parking at the cottage. e are a few minutes walk from the Station Carpark or a ten to fifteen-minute walk from the Island Carpark.
Out of season, parking is usually not a problem, but during the summer months, you may have to park up at the coach park at the top of town, but there is a footpath that leads back to town. We usually drop off our belongings at the cottage and then park up. You can purchase daily or weekly parking tickets, and there is an excellent bus service if you want to visit any of the surrounding towns. One more thing to note, the roads around St Ives can be pretty narrow, so be careful.
We are not professional landlords, we are a family who is very proud of our little cottage and wants to share it with others. We try and do our best to make your stay a memorable one. There are tea and coffee with fresh milk available when you arrive and we will be able to help you throughout your stay. Please email us with any issues.
The cottage is up a small side street. At the bottom of the road is a local pub, and a Coop shop is just around the corner.
The cottage is quite centrally located. The harbour and the main shopping street (Fore St) are just a few minutes walk from the cottage. At the top of Tregenna Hill are the bus and train stations.
We are happy to take Short Stays (3 nights), but over the school holidays and the summer, we try to prioritise families looking for a week's stay first. Closer to the time, and we gladly accept a shorter stay if the cottage has not been booked. Also, if you bring a pet, please let us know how many. There is an additional cleaning fee for pets.
