Positive: This is a delightful little cottage in the heart of the village of Melmerby. It ooozes character and is beautifully presented. The accommodation comprises a cosy living room, with a separate study area. There is a large well-equipped kitchen with an adjacent dining area in a conservatory, and a small utility room. The main shower room is downstairs and has plenty of space. Upstairs is a decent master bedroom and a smaller second bedroom with a handy WC. The cottage is a very short walk from a delightful local pub, which will be offering food from July, but was not at the time of my stay. The location and surrounding countryside are stunning, and we really enjoyed the stay here.

Negative: The cottage is very comfortable for two, but would be a bit tight for a family of four, as the fourth bed is a "trundle" bed that normally is kept underneath the third bed. Bringing it to use would take up almost all the floorspace in the second bedroom. Our only other gripe was that we travelled for a wedding locally, and hence had smart clothing and found that there was precious little hanging space in the cottage.

Summary: Delightful character property, immaculately presented in a winning position. Highly recommended.
