Positive: What a wonderful surprise! Just a stone’s throw from town, yet it feels like you’re tucked away in the middle of nowhere. I fell asleep listening to the sheep last night and woke to them again this morning — such a peaceful way to start and end the day. Mike, who runs the place, is an absolute star — so chilled, welcoming, and genuinely accommodating. He really made us feel at home. And the bed… well, that can make or break a weekend away, and this one was perfect. Super comfy, no dampness (thanks to the thoughtful choice of materials), and the pillows were just right. There’s even a wood burner in the tent, which we didn’t need this time but was a lovely touch. Everything you could want was provided: a gas stove (with gas), kettle, cups, plates, bowls, cutlery, a washing-up bowl, lantern, and even a mirror (a must-have for us girls!). We also had outdoor seating options — camping chairs or beanbags — plus our own fire pit and barbecue, with the option of joining the communal area if we fancied being social or needed cover from the rain. The toilets and showers were spotless and far exceeded expectations. Honestly, we can’t wait to come back. If I could, I’d happily spend every Friday and Saturday night here.
