Pearl Cottage is a lovely Cotswold Stone cottage, built in 1837, at the end of a short terrace of four houses called Albert Cottages, all with semi-circular topped windows.
The terrace dates from the peak of the silk industry in Blockley, a picturesque and historic village that benefits from having two pubs and a community owned village shop and cafe, as well as a historic Norman church in the centre of the village.
Pearl Cottage was completely renovated in Winter 2016, and tastefully furnished for a luxurious boutique hotel feel. With 3 bedrooms (1 king size bed, a twin-bedded room and a single room) it sleeps up to 5 people, in the light and airy yet cosy and comfortable rooms. There is a private enclosed garden looking over the hills. Free on street parking is readily available.
Completely refurbished from top to toe in 2016, Pearl Cottage is light and fresh, blending the traditional with the modern, with comfortable creamy white chairs and sofas, a traditional wood burning stove, and excellent strong Wi-Fi throughout. The house is fully carpeted except for the kitchen and the bathroom.
It is set in the totally unspoilt Cotswold village of Blockley, between Chipping Campden and Moreton-in the Marsh, away from the crowds and yet within driving distance of some of the best tourist spots to the Cotswolds has to offer.
Pearl Cottage is on a quiet road 5 minutes from the friendly village cafe & community owned shop, there are two lovely pubs, a village green & church, with glorious views all around. It's a dream for walkers & foodies alike, and a haven for those wanting to get away from it all. It's like stepping back in time, and in no time at all you will feel at home.
Yet only a short drive away you'll find all many of the popular tourist sites that make the Cotswolds so famous all over the world: honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages, cobbled streets, numerous little shops with food and craft fairs, glorious gardens, a multitude of National Trust properties for history lovers, music festivals, horse racing in Cheltenham, and more!
Numerous country walks are accessible directly from the cottage and Blockley is well located for visiting the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds, as well as further afield places such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace, Cheltenham, Cirencester and Oxford.
