In these unusual times, Corrantaf offers a beautiful secluded holiday location, yet within walking distance of normal facilities. Reviews from visitors confirm the high standards of facilities and cleanliness that have always been provided, including anti-bacterial hand-wash at all four wash basins and the kitchen sink. This beautiful and spacious house offers the best views in Laugharne, across the estuary and 30 miles of coastline. 5 bedrooms, 4 bath/shower rooms, 4 living rooms and a conservatory, plus downstairs cloakroom, fully-fitted kitchen, utility room and walk-in pantry. The fabulous Pendine Sands is a short drive away, with easy parking. The beauty of the area was highlighted recently in the BBC TV drama "Keeping Faith".
The house is superbly equipped and with some equally stunning traditional and antique furniture. The house has a large secluded garden and off-street parking, yet is central to all of Laugharne’s amenities.
This unique, imposing house is on Cliff Walk and has off-street parking for 3 cars without anyone being blocked in, or up to 5/6 cars with blocking. It is within 200/300 yards of Laugharne Castle, Dylan Thomas Boathouse, and the town’s bars, restaurants and shops. The house is superbly equipped, with a well-blended combination of modern and traditional furniture, including grand piano, grandfather clock, two welsh dressers, valuable antique sideboard and many other items of special interest. The central dining area and lounge are stunning, with panoramic views over Laugharne Bay. Everything you need, including bed-linen and towels, is provided. One or two well-behaved dogs are welcome, by agreement. No smoking inside the house.
Accommodation Description
Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
There are 5 newly-decorated and furnished bedrooms - 3 double, 1 twin and 1 single, some with built-in wardrobes. 1 double has en-suite with walk-in shower, and the single has en-suite bathroom with shower attachment. 1 other double and the twin room have an associated luxury shower room, and there is a further large family bathroom with shower fitment. All three double bedrooms have fantastic sea views. A bedroom TV is provided, which can be used in any of the bedrooms.
Dining Area, Lounge, Study and Snug:
The front porch leads into a large central room, which encompasses the dining area, with wood flooring, fireplace, ceiling beams and a feature staircase. There is a valuable antique sideboard, magnificent 8-feet long vintage Welsh Oak dining table, seating 10 in comfort, and a Hi-Fi for music. Double-doors from the dining area lead to a large lounge, with three-piece suite, wood burning stove, Grand Piano, and TV & Blu-Ray Recorder. Further doors from the central area provide access into both a Study and a Snug/Sitting Room, with a beautiful Welsh Dresser, books and games. The Lounge provides access to the conservatory and French doors onto the patio. There are fantastic views of the ever-changing estuary and coastline.
Kitchen, Utility Room and Pantry:
The newly modernised fully fitted kitchen also has direct access to the conservatory, which may also be used as an informal breakfast room. Range cooker with 7-burner gas hob, 2 electric ovens and 1 further grill/oven. Microwave, dishwasher, built-in fridge, and a full set of quality crockery, cutlery, pans and utensils are provided. In addition to cupboard space, there is an adjoining walk-in pantry with extensive storage space, and a freezer. The utility room has washing machine, tumble dryer, sink and associated equipment.
Amenities:
Bed-linen and towels are provided. A weekly cleaning service is available for those staying more than one week. The house has full central heating, and all normal equipment is available, including Iron and Ironing Board, Hair Dryers, Travel Cot, High Chair, Telephone, Internet Access, Barbeque, Garden Furniture, etc.
Outside:
The house is surrounded by a large secure garden, with more than ten trees and natural habitat. To the rear of the house is a patio and lawn with phenomenal views. The drive is fairly steep, but from the parking area much of the garden is reasonably flat.
Location:
The house is reached from the main street in Laugharne, via a single-track road, which becomes Cliff Walk (part of the Welsh Coastal Path) and “No Entry” for vehicles at the point of access to the drive. Coastal walks start from the front of the house, and there are nearby facilities for horse riding. Fishing is also popular, and there are golf courses in the area.
