A great home in a great area! We've lived within 100 meters of the house since 2007 and in the area since 2000 and absolutely love it. Bermondsey tube is less than 10 minutes walk away and buses on your doorstep will take you directly into town. This is a fantastic but rare 3 bedroom house very close to the centre of town. The house is a really good size so you will have lots of space and there's loads of storage space too. There's a separate dining area and a large reception room. Outside to the front there's a lovely sunny south facing garden - ideal for entertaining. And an added bonus unheard of this close to the centre of the city - there's FREE unrestricted unlimited on street parking! We're just outside the London Congestion Charging Zone too so you'll have no unexpected additional costs of driving. There's always plenty of space on the street. The house has the following layout: One large bedroom with one standard size double bed and separate bunk beds (2 singles). One large bedroom with one king size double bed. One bedroom with bunk beds (2 singles). Large reception room. One bathroom with bath, separate shower, sink and toilet. One separate shower room with shower and sink. One room downstairs with sink and toilet. Dining room. Kitchen. Guest Access This is an entire home so there's no need to share with anyone else. Access to the property is also private through the lovely front space. There's broadband internet with WiFi and TV with all the major stations included. There's a modern kitchen with all the appliances you'd expect in your own home including washing machine and dishwasher, fridge and freezer, microwave, coffee maker and ovens. Guest Interaction We live just a couple of minutes walk away so we are on hand should you need anything during your stay. We are usually available to help should you need anything at all - local knowledge, information on the best places to go and to see and advice on getting around. Because we live in the area we also know all the hidden gems - little local breweries under the railway arches, micro-London gin distilleries, great local restaurants and bars and all the local sights. If you know London and want to do your own thing that's fine but with the peace of mind of knowing that we're available for advice if you need us. The Neighbourhood We love the area. We've lived here for years and years and hope to stay here for many years more. Although it's changed a lot in recent years - just look at the Shard that's just popped up on the doorstep - it still retains its local character. Bermondsey is a lovely residential area with a local feel, sandwiched between the business district of Canary Wharf, the banking district of the City and next to the hipster cool area around London Bridge. Tower Bridge and the Tower of London are within walking distance and South Bank with its bars and galleries are but a stroll along the river. Getting Around The house is less than 10 minutes walk from Bermondsey Tube station on the Jubilee Line. Bermondsey Station is 1 stop (3 minutes) from London Bridge, 2 stops (6 minutes) from Canary Wharf. The Jubilee Line goes direct to Waterloo and Bond Street but of course being so close to a tube station opens up the whole city effortlessly. Local buses will take you direct to Trafalgar Square and Waterloo and are within a few minutes walk. Getting to the House Parking is on the street and is rare in Central London in that it is completely free and unrestricted! If you arrive at Heathrow Airport then you have a choice of the Heathrow Express to Paddington and then the tube to Bermondsey, or you can get the tube the whole way from Heathrow to Bermondsey using the Picadilly Line and then change at Green Park onto the Jubilee Line. Coming into Gatwick Airport? Then no problem, the train will bring you direct into London Bridge in about 30 minutes and then you are one stop on the Jubilee Line to Bermondsey. And taking the train saves you money too - stay in other parts of London and you will take the Gatwick Express which is quite expensive. The train is a much cheaper option and gets you one tube stop (or a short taxi journey) from your destination. If you come into Stanstead then you can take the train into Liverpool Street, then hop on the Victoria tube to Bermondsey, or just grab a cab. If you've had a long journey and don't fancy the short walk then a taxi from Bermondsey is about £5, or from London Bridge station is about £6 or £7 - we can let you have numbers of reliable local firms, download the Uber app, or just hail a cab on the street or on a rank. If you're travelling to London for sporting events then you have easy and direct access on the tube from Bermondsey to both the Olympic Stadium and Wembley. You also have direct train access to Twickenham Stadium from nearby Waterloo train station. The Area Local landmarks include Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, Royal Festival Hall, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Westminster and the House of Commons and House of Lords, the National Theatre and British Film Institute. Arsenal and Wembley stadiums are within easy reach, as is Tate Modern and the museums and galleries of central London.
