Summary: Loved the serenity. The sauna, large bath were very good. The small views from the window were charming with a bird feeder strategically placed for bird watching. The bed was comfortable. The refrigerator was miniscule (I was told prior to arrival it was"bench height") - it was knee height. Don't make the mistake I did and stock up on fresh food, there's barely any space. The cooking facilities were likewise minimalist. Less than one square foot of free benchspace. A constant and annoying juggle to cook a meal. On arrival I was anticipating meeting the welcoming and friendly, helpful host I had read about in reviews. Susie was in a rush, a long list of what shouldn't do, a reluctance to explain the workings of the cottage and a hurried departure. Thankfully her husband was far more forthcoming with local advise. I did appreciate, however, Susie giving me antihistamines as I developed an extremely uncomfortable allergic reaction to some plant or pollen on her property. I was, after 3 days spent indoors due to illhealth, able to drive around Lewis and enjoy it's beauty.
