A beautiful traditional country cottage in an idyllic location. Ghyll Burn Cottage dates back to the 1630's, packed with original features, exposed whitewashed stone walls, beamed ceilings and stripped wood floors. Accommodation is accessed via the first floor, the kitchen and dining room is lovely with a farmhouse table and kitchen to one corner with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. The living room is spacious with wood burning stove, TV, DVD and CD radio and the sofa converts to a double bed for additional guests. The pitched, beamed ceiling is a real feature of the property. There's also a cloakroom with wash basin and WC on the first floor. Stairs lead down to the ground floor to the two bedroom and bathroom.

Ghyll Burn Cottage sits in an secluded valley, just over a mile from Alston (gardeners may be keen to know that the owners run an alpine nursery alongside.) Get out and about and explore the network of footpaths and bridleways. Further afield you'll find Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District, Weardale, Teesdale and the beautiful and largely undiscovered Eden Valley are all within easy reach.
