Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: First floor light and airy, spacious with plenty of room. Bed in main room very comfortable and lovely crisp bedding.

Negative: Downstairs very small and dark, should not be a need to have lights on all the time, also for the size room of the room the furniture could do with being much smaller, seems slightly over cluttered. Outside seems very tired, from the picture we saw there were lovely planters and flowers, none of this was there, just a load of old pots in the planters and lots more debris in general. Also, it would be helpful if the owners left a small summary of what there is available in the village. ie A local bakery with a dog friendly restaurant, the opening times and days the local pub opens and that there is a food van on a Sunday afternoon and the food from there can be taken inside the pub, as the pub currently does not serve food. In the next village, Langwathby, there in a no dogs allowed pub with a monitor on an Osprey’s nest inside the pub. On the village green between 10 and 3 there is trailer that serves food and entertainment. All these things we had to find out for ourselves. It is also very close to Penrith and easy accessible to travel to many places.

Summary: It’s a very homely cottage, and a very pleasant stay.
