Tucked away in the heart of this friendly Broadland village, within easy walking distance of the village pub and shop. There is an abundance of eateries in the surrounding area, including fine dining in an AA award-winning restaurant. The surrounding landscape is gentle and tranquil, dotted with ancient churches, wind pumps and nature reserves, this area of Norfolk offers a wealth of opportunity to enjoy walking, cycling and bird watching. Circular walking trails are also available locally. Nearby, Hickling Broad and How Hill Nature Reserves with its marshes, meadows, woodland and open water, is well worth exploring.
Many centres offer bike, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoe hire, complete with instruction, if required - possibly the most delightful way to discover the lovely reed lined waterways and abundant wildlife. Visitors can also hire day boats at nearby Womack Waters, Ludham (2 miles) and Potter Heigham (3 miles). A little further afield on the North Norfolk coast, seal watching boat trips can be found at picturesque fishing villages Blakeney Quay and Morston Harbour, which also boast pubs and restaurants serving superb locally caught seafood.
