Positive: The location was amazing and really rural, so peaceful and fantastic for walking and exploring. The cottage is cute and very clean. The beds were lovely and clean / comfy and the one sofa was lovely and comfy by the log burner Nice having a small enclosed garden for the dog and treats/poo bags provided

Negative: For such a rural location where the host had advised bring supplies - there wasn’t really enough kitchen equipment. Literally 5 knives and forks! Just two small saucepans and 2 small frying pans. The cottage is lovely and cute but none of the internal doors fit and the outside garden is by the drive with a view onto the only other house for miles. Lovely French door in the kitchen are not to be opened and have badly applied privacy cover on the glass as that’s the owners garden - and unfortunately that’s the side with the stunning views so from inside you could be anywhere! I’m sure they could have a small area there where you could sit out etc or even just have the French door open with a Juliet style balcony window or even better /lower privacy cover. I do understand they have dogs and chickens but it makes it feel like you are an inconvenience rather than a guest. The info pack was just some scribbled (and partly out of date ) notes and very little use. With seemingly no way to control the heating - so we used the log burner, which is lovely. The notes said that any extra wood would be charged - we didn’t realise that ALL the wood was extra, there was none by the burner so used the basket of logs from the outside log store and with the burner for one cool evening we then had a message on leaving requesting £14 for the logs used, I didn’t mind the charge but it’s certainly not made clear. The sofas - one lovely comfy and luxurious, the other a terrible ? Pull out bed - out of place and again feeling like an afterthought
