Space My stylish 1 bedroom apartment is the perfect base when visiting London. Located in a former school, this trendy building in East London is just a 10 minute walk away from Plaistow station. The living area is light and airy with a beautiful, modern design and lovely finishing touches. Relax on the sofa and make yourself at home! It’s a welcoming and inviting space where you can kick back. The doors here open out onto a large private balcony. If cooking is your thing, you’re going to love spending time in the sleek kitchen. All the appliances are modern and easy to use - you’ll enjoy showing off your culinary skills here! There’s even a welcome pack stuffed full of coffee, tea (of course!), and proper English scones. The master bedroom has an incredibly comfortable King-size bed and, with fresh luxury linens, what more do you need for a good night’s sleep? You don’t have to live out of your suitcase; plenty of storage room means you can get unpacking and start feeling at home right away. The sofa can also be pulled out into a single bed, so the property can sleep 3 in total. Freshen up in the luxurious bathroom - enjoy a soak in the large tub/wake up in the mornings with the fantastic shower. White fluffy towels and toiletries are provided! My property will be professionally cleaned before your stay. Access Guests will have access to the entire property, excluding some storage units locked for the hosts' use. Interaction My friends at Hostmaker are looking after my home while I am away; they are a short-lets management service team who know London like the back of their hand! Neighborhood This is a traditional East London neighbourhood- so look out for the traditional English local places which are becoming rare in the rest of London- here they are at your doorstep! My favourites are: -Ginny's pie and mash shop, located at 538 Barking road- just a 3 min walk- serving Pie & Mash and Eels. It's the most traditional food in East London and everyone should give it a try! I love the hot chicken pie and mash. -The Black Lion is the best pub in Plaistow. 59-61 High St, just an 8 min walk, it's a traditional local pub with rustic-style, great beers and simple food, very friendly and full of local character. -E13 is a tiny lovely Brazilian place at 337a Barking Rd, with fantastic authentic food, friendly staff and very cold beer. I love the steak there. Yum. -Cornerstone at 408 Barking Road is a lovely cafe with local character, nice coffee and cakes. -Efes restaurant at 65 Barking Road, near Canning town station, has the best Turkish food in East London. It's open late and the food is amazing, portions are huge and everything tastes delicious. Also the prices are good. The flat is a15 min bus ride to Stratford City centre. This is perfect for shopping at the huge Westfield (one of Europe's largest shopping centres), eating at the various restaurants there and for a walk/jog in the beautiful Queen Elisabeth's Park. The Royal Docklands is a nice area to walk, filled with local bars, restaurants and the Excel Centre. You can get the cable car (Emirates Air Line) from the Royal Docklands to North Greenwich to enjoy the view of London from above and walk around the North Greenwich market, which is a favourite weekend exploration. Transit The flat is a 10 min walk to/from Plaistow station which is served by the District and Hammersmith & City Lines. All trains from Plaistow station take you to Central London in 15-30 min. For example you can reach: King's Cross station in 20 min (Hammersmith & City line) Liverpool street in 32 min (Hammersmith/district line with a change for the central line in Mile End) Monument station in 34 min (district line) Additionally, the flat is a10-15 min bus ride from Canning Town tube station (zone 2, Jubilee Line) and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station. This means you can reach North Greenwich and Canary Wharf in 20 min. The flat is ideally located for those who fly to/from City Airport; the 473 bus gets you directly from/to the City Airport in only 20 min. The ExCel exhibition centre is only 15-20 min by bus. Buses 473 and 300 from Barking road/Khartoum road go there.
