Covid-19 update. We are very conscious of guests’ concerns about Covid-19. The measures which we have taken to build confidence include:
• The cleaner will disinfect throughout the cottage, putting extra effort into disinfecting the hard surfaces and high contact points.
• Both owner and cleaner have completed an online cleaning & disinfecting instructional course, which lays emphasis on avoiding cross-contamination.
• Disinfectants used in the house conform to British Standard EN14476.
• On arrival, the caretaker will welcome you from a distance but not enter the cottage with you. Instead she will telephone you after you have had time to settle in, and will talk you through various aspects of the cottage.
Before your arrival we will ask you to:
• Confirm that you do not have symptoms of coronavirus, and have not been in contact with anyone with a confirmed case of coronavirus before you set off for Skye.
• Agree that, if you or any of your party should fall ill while they are in Balmacara Cottage and needs to stay on there to self-isolate, you will pay the going rate to me yourself and reclaim from your insurance as necessary. Please bear in mind that we have a responsibility towards guests who have booked after you.
• Agree that, if you or any of your party falls ill after leaving Balmacara Cottage, you will let me have the details without delay so that I can warn the caretaker, cleaner and anyone else affected.
Changeover day is on a Friday, but shorter stay lets are welcome if they fit within my Friday-Friday routine.
The lounge has a large flat screen TV with freeview and DVD player, comfortable leather sofas and an electric wood-effect fire. There is a large south-facing conservatory with 180 degree views towards Portree and the Cuillins; it has an additional seating area, a dining table & chairs and a desk from which to write the odd postcard whilst enjoying the views! Patio doors lead to the grassy garden. Well equipped kitchen with a large fridge freezer, dishwashers, microwave, and electric oven.
The utility room has a sink, washing machine and ironing facilities. There is a ground floor family bathroom with a shower over bath, W.C. and wash hand basin. Also on the ground floor is a spacious twin bedroom with ensuite shower room with W.C. and wash hand basin.
Upstairs there is a double bedroom with SuperKing bed, wash hand basin and ensuite W.C., a second bedroom with SuperKing bed, and a single bedroom. There is also a second family bathroom with a shower over bath, WC and wash hand basin. If guests using the double bedrooms wish to have two single duvets instead of one large duvet, please let us know when booking and this can be arranged for you. All bed linen and towels are provided.
The downstairs bedroom and bathroom are wheelchair accessible.
Balmacara Cottage is a charming, large self-catering holiday home which has ample parking to the front of the property and a private grassy garden to the rear.
